Escaping the city of Orlando recently, we took a trip to Mount Dora. Moving here recently from Denver, we obviously love nature and needed that nature re-charge. We drove to a vacant Trimble Park in Mount Dora that has an easy 1mi trail that certainly wore out the pup. This beautiful hike brings a different view of nature that we are used to from the Rocky Mountains, but has its own positive look. My wife and I took a mini vacation from Orlando to St Petersburg Beach, specifically, Pass a Grille Beach. This quiet area in the St Petersburg West Coast of Florida has to be one of the best kept secrets! We stayed in a small B&B that was perfect for the two of us, where we could walk to the beach and to a few eating establishments. Some of these Sunset shots were taken directly on the beach, while others were taken from Hurricane Seafood Restaurant.

Reichstag – July 2011

The German Reichstag is the building in Berlin where the German Government (the Bundestag) meets, similar to the U.S. Capitol building. The Reichstag was completed in the late 1800′s and has been renovated twice in the past 50 years. The Reichstag Dome provides a 360 degree view of the Berlin skyline. The west side of the Reichstag faces a large open area of grass that allows visitors to get a nice shot in front of the building.

In Fall of 2009, I spent some time in Breckenridge to explore some of the Fall Colors. You can see from some of these shots, that we were about a week or so early. Some of these shots of Fall in Breckenridge are when I first started taking some HDR shots and was still shooting with my D40 at the time. Breckenridge is a great mountain town and continues to grow. During the high season, it is host to many travelers from Texas.

During a trip back to the Washington, D.C. area in Summer of 2010, I was fortunate enough to make it back down to my hometown of Stafford, VA. Although I didn’t get a chance to make it to my old house that I grew-up on, I was able to snap this shot of the Aquia Harbour sign. Even though the shopping center (Aquia Towne Center) has gone down hill now, the Aquia area of Stafford still has great significance to me! Today, Stafford is booming on the western side of Interstate 95 and I hope that the Aquia area is able to keep up with the production.

On the way up to Independence Pass to get to Aspen, you will drive passed this beautiful area! In my opinion, Twin Lakes is more open and more beautiful than Maroon Bells! Property is currently super cheap to purchase in this area! The area is locked out from Aspen during the Winter with the pass being closed, but it is still an easy drive to Buena Vista and Leadville where each locations have operating airports and necessary stores.

This is the Ritchie Center on the campus of the University of Denver. This tower on the right is a great landmark driving on I-25 in Denver. This was shot using my D-40 in Spring of ’09 and the post work was done in Fall of ’09. HDR done using Photoshop exposure levels and photomatix.
